Soundelux Elux251 Tube Condenser Microphone

The ELUX 251 recreates the sonic beauty of the fabled Telefunken ELAM 251, one of the most sought after vintage mics ever built. Its strong, powerful bottom and airy, unabrasive top puts this mic leagues ahead of others; its performance simply cannot be found in cheaper microphones.
This characteristic gives the sense that its response extends well beyond the normal range of a studio microphone.
The ELUX 251 has the ability to transform the most intimate details of a vocal, maintaining its clarity even under stressful vocal situations, and doesn't fold or get harsh as the singer's intensity increases. It will give you absolute confidence that your vocal tracks will stand the test of generational degradation: mixing, processing, mastering, broadcasting and webcasting!
All of these technical details and attention to the old school philosophy and craftsmanship are there for one reason: to provide you with the highest quality recordings possible, with no compromise. The ELUX 251 is the ultimate high resolution tube mic!
Applications:
Though it's primary use will undoubtedly be on male or female vocals, the ELUX 251 will also find itself an extraordinary performer on other instruments as well. Drum kits will have astounding impact and transient response, with no overt artificial high end or midrange boxiness. Pianos will also benefit from the open top of this mic. It will also excel on acoustic guitars, percussion, and as a main ensemble mic.
My 2¢: Elux 251. This is my favorite vocal microphone made today ... it sounds amazing. The mid range is beyond sweet and it is very punchy in the mix. Perfectly balanced sonically and it looks wonderful. What more can you ask for? Oh yeah, how about a great price ... at a $5k "list" you get that as well! Do not get fooled by imitators who throw "251" on a tube mic to sell it or people who haven't been making microphones for 100 weeks let alone 100 years... The Soundelux Elux 251 is the one... it is the real deal !!!
